Peggie D. Sherry, raised on Palm Beach, Florida, has proudly called the Tampa Bay area home since 1975. Her professional journey reflects a lifetime dedicated to leadership, service, advocacy, and empowering others through some of life’s greatest challenges.

Ms. Sherry began her career in the family banking business, where she spent eighteen successful years developing her expertise in finance, management, and community relations. Following her banking career, she transitioned into the media industry as an Independent Television Producer and Editor for PBS, earning three prestigious Telly Awards for excellence in television production.

In 1999 Ms. Sherry devoted her life’s work to supporting cancer patients and their families. In January 2004, she founded the Faces of Courage Foundation using an inheritance left to her by her parents, Cynthia and John Drolshagen.

A two-time breast cancer survivor, Ms. Sherry has become a respected national advocate for cancer patients and survivorship issues. Since 2005, she has served on numerous committees and research initiatives with H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, University of South Florida, and University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, contributing to published manuscripts, abstracts, and patient-centered research projects. She has also served as a grant reviewer for the U.S. Department of Defense, Susan G. Komen, and the Hillsborough Education Foundation.

Peggie has Co Authored three books with four-time cancer survivor, Phyllis Mikolaitis, Breast Cancer Tips and Tricks, Grab Me First Emergency Guide and Got Cancer? Get Answers.

Throughout her remarkable career, Ms. Sherry has received numerous honors recognizing her advocacy, leadership, and community service. Her awards include Breast Cancer Wellness Magazine’s Advocate of the Year; the Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero Award; Aetna Foundation’s Voices of Health Award; Royal Neighbors Insurance Company’s Nation of Neighbors Award; the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Distinguished Breast Cancer Survivor Award; eBay’s international “Every Mom’s a Hero” Grand Prize Award; NASA Breast Cancer Survivor Honoree; Yoplait Yogurt National Champion; the American Red Cross Good Neighbor Award; WEDU PBS Speaking of Women’s Health Award; the Florida State Daughters of the American Revolution Community Service Award; and FOX News Hometown Hero recognition, among many others.

Community service has always remained at the heart of Ms. Sherry’s mission. She is the Founder of the Gasparilla Krewe of Agustina de Aragon (1997), the Krewe of Agustina Scholarship Fund (1998), and the KOA Full Heart Foundation (2020). A proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 1974, she has held numerous leadership and chairmanship positions at the local, state, and national levels. She also serves actively within the Daughters of the American Colonists, Colonial Dames XVII, and is a lifetime member of the National Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons.

In addition, Ms. Sherry has dedicated more than two decades of service as a Board Member for Rotary’s Camp Florida, the Hillsborough County Grants Collaborative Executive Board, the Beth Waters Friendship Foundation, and several other nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving lives throughout the community.

As a motivational speaker, author, spokesperson, and advocate, Ms. Sherry has been featured or quoted by national media outlets including NBC Dateline, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Miami Herald, Huffington Post, PBS specials, Heal Magazine, DuPont Registry Magazine, Breast Cancer Wellness Magazine, Healthy Cells Magazine, and numerous other television, radio, podcast, and print interviews across the country.
